Data processing systems were integral components of the PAR and MSR. Both sites used computer controlled
phased array radar systems. The DPS also handled target trajectory computations and inter-site communications.
The MSR battle management applications were responsible for the interception and destruction
of threatening ICBM warheads. The BMDC also had a DPS component, but its capabilities were limited
to display and command / control functions.
