Western Electric Engineer, PAR Product Assurance
From Roger Thompson, 6 December 2003: I was in (Western Electric's) PA (Product Assurance), which was sort of like a super quality control group. All physical installation and tests were checked by Product Assurance and a subset of those checked again by the Army. As an example, when a computer rack was loaded with individual cards, each card had a small paper sticker placed on it by PA and the inspector would stamp it with his numbered marker. Each card was numbered and tracked with a configuration control process. I was responsible for the radar tests mostly. I left the PAR site in November of '74 and was there for about 2 and a half winters. Contributed by Roger Thompson:
